Our Cedar Park Dentists

Dr. Parekh grew up in New Delhi, India. She went to dental school in India and practiced dentistry in India for 2 years. She then moved to US in 2013 and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry.  
 
Dr. Parekh entered the dental field because she hopes to change one smile at a time and eradicate dental fear from the community one patient at a time. 
    
Outside of the office, Dr. Parekh loves to travel, kayaking, make road trips and love to bake and cook. She loves to try new dishes and desserts and always finds her foodie husband a new place to dine in. When she is not focused on the dental field, she is spending time with her husband and 2-year-old daughter. 

Dr. Dharti Shyani grew up in India and then relocated to Edison, New Jersey when she was 15 years old. After graduating from high school, she headed to Montclair State University in NJ, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. Go, Red Hawks! From there, she went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery from The New York University College of Dentistry. Following graduation, she worked as an Associate Dentist in Midland, TX, and later relocated to Austin, TX. 

Dr. Shyani believes that dentistry is a mixture of art, science, and engineering. That is why she loves being in the field. She enjoys being a Dentist for multiple reasons, but her favorite part is the ability to put an instant smile on someone’s face. Whether she provided immediate pain relief, or created a new esthetic smile, bringing her patients joy is the most rewarding part of what she does. Dentistry has also fulfilled her dream of being in healthcare while utilizing technology. 

She embraces the Austin culture with her partner and enjoys all the outdoor activities the city has to offer. 

Dr. Dip Desai graduated from Birmingham University where he then transferred to New York University to complete dental school. Dr. Desai’s love for dentistry stemmed from the desire to help people by changing their smiles because that is the first thing others notice. The relationships that he builds with patients over the course of their orthodontic treatment is very important to him.

In Dr. Desai’s spare time, his hobbies are exercising, swimming, biking and cooking. His main goal is to spend time with his family and their dog, Hazel.

Dr. Jerry Chiu was born and raised in New Jersey, but is proud to call himself an Austinite. As a child, he dreaded going to the dentist, but the saving grace was the comfort and compassion he felt in the chair by his dental professional. Years later, as a practicing oral surgeon, Dr. Chiu continues to emphasize the importance of providing compassionate care, yet maintaining professionalism and delivering safe and outstanding surgical expertise. Dr. Chiu obtained his doctor of dental surgery degree at Columbia University, where he was involved in international mission trips to Cambodia. He completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the competitive Medstar Washington Hospital Center, serving as chief resident in the final year. His training also included working at esteemed affiliated hospitals, such as the John Hopkins Hospital, DC Veteran Affairs Medical Center, Children’s National Hospital, and the National Institute of Health.

Dr. Chiu practices the full scope of oral surgery with special emphasis on outpatient sedation and anesthesia, dentoalveolar surgery, implantology, oral pathology, and soft and hard tissue reconstruction.

Outside of work, Dr. Chiu is an avid tennis player, scuba diver, foodie, and cyclist. You can find him cruising along Lady Bird Lake or eating his way through Austin in his spare time. He is also the proud father of a French bulldog named Cooper. Dr. Chiu enjoys traveling internationally and has backpacked in over 18 countries with even more trips in mind.
